A journey to the base camp of the World's tallest mountain, Mount Everest, the Everest Base Camp trek is considered the best trekking destination in the world. Since the very first summit in 1953 AD, May 29 by Edmund Hillary and Tenzin Norgay Sherpa, Everest has been a dream of many. And for the one who cannot afford physically to be at the top of the mountain has added Everest Base Camp to their bucket list. Located at the center of the Khumbu region, Everest Base Camp is at an elevation of 5364 m in the lap of the World's tallest peak Mount Everest (8848m). The trek traverses you through numerous small Sherpa settlements, rivers, suspension bridges, lush green forests, and diverse landscapes. You also get to witness the ancient Buddhist monasteries and Gompas during the trek showcasing the culture and traditions of Sherpas in the Himalayas. As you pass through villages, the Everest Base Camp trek provides you with an opportunity to learn and experience the culture and lifestyle of the world-renowned Sherpa community. Along with the cultural aspect, the trek also offers you an equal amount of natural scenery from rugged landscapes to views of the high Himalayas. Taking you to the highest point of the trek Kala Patthar at an elevation of 5644m, you can get a magnificent view of Mt. Everest (8,848m) and several other stunning peaks like Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), Cho Oyu (8,201 m), and Mt. Makalu (8,436 m), etc during the trek. Also, since most of the trail to the Everest Base Camp lies inside Sagarmatha National Park, there's a chance that you might come across a diverse range of flora and faunas along the way.

Depending on your time and preference, the trek can range from 12-6 days in total. The trek begins after a short thrilling flight to Lukla. From Lukla, the trek takes you through Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, and several other Sherpa villages before you step onto the Base camp of Mount Everest. From the base camp, you head to Kala Patthar from where you get to view Mount Everest right in front of your eyes. A perfect journey for adventure lovers, seeking to traverse through the wild side of nature leading to the high Himalayas, the Everest Base Camp trek is one of the most stunning adventurous activities one can try in their life.
